Burns’ Suppers, to commemorate our best-loved bard, Robert ‘Rabbie’ Burns, have been part of Scottish culture for nearly 200 years. Please plan on attending this special event as we join with others around the world to celebrate the man who contributed so much to the literary culture of Europe.
A Burns' Night Supper begins with Rabbies' own Selkirk Grace: "Some hae meat and canna eat, And some wad eat that want it; But we hae meat and we can eat, And sae the Lord be thankit." Those of you who were there last year know that the staff at The Wildlife Experience provides a delicious meal in a great atmosphere.
The good company of Robert Burns himself has also been arranged! Our resident Robert Burns, a.k.a. Gary Carnes, has agreed to perform the Address to a Haggis. Other events during the evening will consist of live music, traditional toasts with a little whisky, a silent auction, poetry reading, rousing numbers by the pipes & drums, and both Highland and Scottish Country Dancing.
