Friday, October 17th, 2008
Special training classes will be offered on Friday, October 17, 2008 and
Friday, October 24, 2008, to anyone interested in learning about Robert
Burns Address to a Haggis, the famous poem that is performed at Burns
Suppers and other events. Frequently people are reluctant to recite the poem
because of their unfamiliarity with the Scots language and the meaning of
the text. Native Scot, Gordon Bell, has agreed to help others learn about To
a Haggis so they will feel more comfortable reciting it, perhaps at a Burns
Supper.
The class is FREE and materials will be supplied to participants at no cost.
Other study materials and resources will be recommended. The two classes
will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church located at 3096 South
Sheridan Blvd. in Denver. The session will begin at 6:30 and last until
approximately 8:00. Everyone is welcome; don’t be shy. Follow-up classes may
be offered in January 2009.
